CITY LIGHTS
In this photo shoot, I traveled to London to bank side to take photographs of the city landscape that is filled with tower blocks. I took my tripod with me to steady my camera. On this trip I found it difficult to focus my camera because I was quite far away from my subjects however I thought that it made an interesting effect to some of the photos that were slightly out of focus. For a few of the photos, I went on the cable car across the Thames to get a view of the buildings from above and their reflections on the water; although some of the pictures were good results that I am pleased with, the majority of my photos were out of focus because the cable car was moving and this made long shutter speed photography difficult. Consequently, I found that shorter shutter speeds were easier to get an in-focus shot despite the fact that this made some of my photos under-exposed. As a result, I will use photo shop to brighten these images more. During this time, I found that an exposure of 5 seconds was best for these shoots because unlike 'bulb' i didn't have to hold onto the camera and therefore it reduced the risk of me jogging the camera, furthermore, this let enough light in without over-exposing the bright lights of the O2 Arena. When photographing the O2 Arena, I liked the way that the lights were reflected in the puddles, therefore I think that this was a successful shoot.
