PROJECTIONS
METHODOLOGY.
For this category I chose to project secondary images of a Barbie’s face, paint splatters and sweets. I chose the Barbie’s face to imply that children grow up to aspire to be like their dolls, for example, blonde, skinny and pretty. I also used the paint splatters to show the creativity of children and to relate to the popular pass time of painting as a child. Finally I used a picture of a pile of sweets to show the multi-coloured and random assortment of the treats and how they appeal to kids. I chose a model with plain clothing and tied-back hair so as not to distract from the projection. I found that the paint splatters worked best on the face of my model because the vibrant shapes create a fantasy, dream-like effect.
