Aims & objectives.
I aim to develop a portfolio of images that display creative use of light in a variety of different ways. I will do this by using slow shutter speeds and long exposures to paint with light as well as capture light trails to show the idea of movement within my work.
I am aware that in order to do this successfully, I will need a tripod and dark settings for my photographs so that they will be focused as I want them and not over-exposed, consequently for a large number of my night time photographs I will use the ‘bulb’ setting and have a large aperture. I will also experiment with using different shaped filters over the lens of my camera and an out of focus shot to cause the shape of the lights to change.
Overall, I want my work to have a mysterious and magical impact on viewers and to fit with the theme of ‘a light in the darkness’.
