POWDER PAINT
EQUIPMENT
Nikon D3100 DSLR
Powder Paint (at least 6 colours)
Black Jumpsuit
METHODOLOGY
On the day that I had arranged to do this shoot, the sky was very foggy so I used this as my background and took the photographs from the top of the hill with the fog blocking out the top of the houses. This meant that the background of my photographs were relatively plain if at all visible which aided me in making the face of my model the main focus of each photo. However, because of this fog, it was a dull lit setting, and I had to use a wide aperture but I kept a relatively fast shutter speed.
I chose the brightest powder paints and I applied them in random, messy patches across the whole of my model as I did not want there to be any regular patterns or colour schemes. I found that the colours showed up best on black clothing and so decided to dress my model in a black boiler suit, it had plain pockets and a straight collar to represent the ordinary base of the photos (With the decorations being out of the ordinary).
PHOTOSHOP
In photo shop, I used the HDR toning tool to make the details of the images more dramatic and then I used the dodge tool to draw attention to the eyes and reduce the darkness of her under eyes as they gave a slightly intimidating facial expression.
