ULTRA VIOLET LIGHTS
For this photo shoot I used ultra-violet face paint, illuminated by a UV LED torch, I used simple patterns to highlight the natural curves of the face, for example, I used yellow and red spots to emphasise my model's cheekbones whilst I drew attention to the eyes and lips by using blocks of colour. I used a tripod for the majority of these photos to allow me to focus on the minor details such as the eyelashes. I used the dark room to ensure that the background was completely black so as to not draw attention away from the face and emphasise the colour of the paint. During this shoot I found it difficult to illuminate the whole face equally as I only had a small UV torch however after looking back at my photos, I like the effect that this has given because it created more dramatic shadows. I think that photo has a mystical, fantasy theme with the way that I have used the speckled, star-like flicked paint pattern.
